XRP Ledger Gets Hacked, yep, really.

XRP Pumps After XRPL Security Breach — Because That Makes Sense
XRP Pumps After XRPL Security Breach — Because That Makes Sense

There’s a special place in crypto clown town for XRP. And today, they’re giving out free tickets.

In case you missed it, XRP Ledger’s official JavaScript library was compromised, private keys were exfiltrated, and real people probably got drained—and what did XRP do?
It pumped.
Of course it did.

Let’s break this down like a Ledger wallet under Ripple’s watch.

💥 The XRPL Gets Wrecked, Nobody Cares

Security researchers at Aikido spotted a supply-chain backdoor slipped into the xrpl.js package on NPM. Versions 4.2.1 through 4.2.4—and even 2.14.2—were silently pwned. These were official packages. As in, “you can trust us, bro” level packages.

The backdoor?
It straight-up siphoned private keys to a domain called 0x9c.xyz. Sounds like the kind of place you’d visit if you clicked on a phishing link in your junk folder right after wiring money to a Nigerian prince.

You’d think this would be the moment when XRP holders looked in the mirror and asked, “What am I doing with my life?”

But nope.

📈 XRP Holders Be Like: “Number Go Up!”

Despite this major vulnerability, XRP jumped 8% today, pushing to $2.27. That’s right—while the devs were frantically putting out fires, traders were lighting cigars with stablecoin failures and yelling “Let’s gooooo!”

Let’s not forget: this is the same XRP token used to bankroll:

  • 💸 The XRPL Ledger (yeah, that one—the one with the security breach)

  • 💸 The RLUSD Stablecoin (remember that? No? Neither does the market.)

So XRP believers funded the foundation, which shipped broken code, and now they’re cheering a price increase while their wallets could’ve been bleeding out.

The irony? Richer than their ledger.

🔐 Here’s the TL;DR For Sanity’s Sake:

  • The XRP Ledger Foundation had an official NPM package hijacked

  • A backdoor stole private keys and sent them to a hacker-controlled domain

  • Updates were released, but it took outside researchers to catch it

  • XRP price went up anyway because why not—it’s crypto’s version of Stockholm syndrome

🛑 What You Should Be Doing (Instead of Buying XRP)

  1. Don’t use compromised JS packages to access your wallets (duh).

  2. Rotate your keys if you were affected.

  3. Hold Bitcoin, not centralized drama tokens with shiny marketing.

  4. Use cold storage and stay away from chains where the devs are asleep at the npm wheel.

🧠 A Final Thought From PureCane

XRP was created to be the banker’s blockchain—and it shows. The devs fund themselves with a pre-mined bag, issue a stablecoin no one uses, release vulnerable software, and still somehow get the community to clap like seals during a feeding frenzy.

So if you’re out there still hoping XRP is going to “flip Bitcoin,” I have a secure wallet package to sell you… v4.2.1. Trust me, bro.
